Edwin C. McGee Jr., MD, FACS, is a 1993-graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, Tennessee. His postgraduate training includes his general surgery and cardiothoracic surgery residency served at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School (1993-2002). He is also fellowship-trained in heart transplant surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation (2003-2004). He attained board certification in general surgery with the American Board of Surgery and board certification in thoracic surgery and cardiothoracic vascular surgery with the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and member of the American Association for Thoracic Surgery, the Cardiothoracic Surgery Network, and The Society of Thoracic Surgeons. Dr. McGee Jr. is the recipient of the Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2013, 2014), On-Time Doctor Award (2014), and Patients’ Choice Award (2013, 2014). Outside his medical practice, he dedicates to his family and dogs, fly fishing, running, and participating in outdoor activities.
